Over the next few weeks, you will notice some umpires wearing a green band on their wrist, indicating that they are under 18 years old.

This is part of a statewide Green Band initiative by Netball Victoria, launching this month.

The initiative aims to:
✅ Enhance the visibility of umpires under 18 years old to promote empathy and respect from players, coaches, and spectators.
✅ Foster a safer sporting environment, raising awareness of Child Safe Standards.
✅ Encourage positive behaviour, ensuring all umpires feel supported as they develop their skills.
